My pottery’s firsts

Vietnamese Summer: Clay sculpture by Vietnamese ceramics artist Thuong Tran
Phuong: my first figurative sculpture.

Every first is so special. So is this first blog post. I will jot down here some of my firsts with pottery, and I will try to come back and update it in the future:

  • First pottery class: July 10th – after my birthday trip to Hawaii. It was a “challenge” I gave to myself as I turned 30: to learn something new.
  • First pottery piece came out of the kiln: I still keep it, and use it. It is a hand-built plate with sage leaf prints (and I grew that sage plant too). You can follow my Instagramto check out more of my work.
  • First sculpture: it was the sculpture of Brio, and is still my favorite.
  • The day I decided to launch my website: May 1st (a kind of first)
  • First studio: coming up and I feel so excited about it!
